Beneficiary Groups
The movement to promote financial wellness still operates at the grassroots level and our beneficiary groups are key to delivering training to individuals across the state. These beneficiary groups have received in-kind donations and support from the Council to empower the people they serve with financial literacy education.
ReBirth Empowerment Education
ReBirth Empowerment Education is a beacon of hope in Dallas communities, dedicated to providing workforce development and support services to marginalized individuals. Through education, skills development, and community service, we empower individuals to achieve economic stability and fulfill their potential. Our Career Pathways Program, offering certifications in retail and technology careers alongside career readiness training, aims to close the wealth and opportunity gap. We are committed to partnering with organizations like the Financial Educators Council of Texas to make personal finance education accessible, ensuring our communities have the tools they need for economic mobility.
Corpus Christi Literacy Council
The mission of the Corpus Christi Literacy Council is to identify, develop, promote, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive programs and resources that will measurably reduce functional illiteracy in the Corpus Christi Bay Area. Goals are to advocate the importance of literacy, establish and strengthen programs to combat illiteracy, maintain and expand a resource center to support literacy programs throughout the community, and maintain an independent literacy council as a non-governmental organization by securing multiple funding sources.
Association for Independent Living (AFIL)
AFIL is a non-profit residential life skills program for young adults diagnosed with Intellectual, Developmental, and Learning Disabilities. AFIL’s mission is to provide a safe and supportive living environment for our adult residents who are diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, elevating them to their highest independence and interdependence through life skills, education, and vocational guidance. Life skills taught in the AFIL Way Program include cooking, cleaning, hygiene, money management, vocational training, communication skills, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
Lunch Box of Love
Our mission at Lunch Box of Love is to nourish not just the bodies, but also the spirits of our community. Together, we are a team driven by compassion, gratitude , and love, relentlessly working towards a future where no one goes hungry or feels unseen. By providing more than just a meal, we strive to restore hope, dignity, and strength to those in need. With each Lunch Box we distribute, we inject a little more love into the world, knowing that our collective efforts can make a profound difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, let us pave a path towards a hunger-free and compassionate society, one Lunch Box at a time.
The Level Up Project
The Level Up Project is dedicated to improving the well-being of Black, Indigenous and People of Color, (BIPOC) by raising awareness of issues specifically affecting these communities. Our commitment is to foster enduring change in urban, rural, and underserved areas, where racial, gender and socio-economic disparities are most pronounced. We aim to create a world where everyone, irrespective of their race, gender, or socio-economic status, can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our initiatives encompass a financial literacy program geared towards fostering economic self-sufficiency.
Blinn College
Blinn College is a 2-year public institution of higher learning based out of Brendan, TX. I teach EDUC 1300 to first semester freshman at the Bryan, TX campus. Part of my course objectives include teaching about personal finance concepts to students as they navigate the collegiate experience.
ilooklikeLOVE
For new single mothers, there is no clear path from a life of scarcity to one of sustainability. ilooklikeLOVE believes empowered mothers are the driving force behind a stable home and the foundation of their child’s success. Since 2015, we have served Dallas by providing education, relief, and recovery services to those mothers most in need. Now, through a partnership with the National Financial Educators Council, ilooklikeLOVE is expanding their financial education efforts to empower the mothers they serve and help them work toward greater financial wellness.
Crosstimbers Academy Charter School
Crosstimbers Academy employs innovative and comprehensive learning techniques to provide students with an individualized, focus-based education. Serving grades 9-12, Crosstimbers Academy offers flexibility and convenience with multiple schedules per day. Scholars are encouraged to participate in morning or afternoon coursework affording them the ability to garner life skills outside of the traditional educational environment. Our motivated and experienced educators employ the latest project-based learning techniques and educational systems to motivate and nurture each scholar to achieve their highest potential.

The Basketball League
The Basketball League (TBL) is dedicated to delivering a World Class Professional Basketball experience to our community, our fans, and our business partners, with the following mission:
